Easing into It

As you may have noticed I have not been eating true Body for life style. With BFL you are supposed to aim for ratios of 40 :40 protein to carbs and my meals have been carb heavy and included things like dark chocolate. God Bless it (even though BFL doesn’t.)

For a second and a half I felt bad about slacking on this plan, but before I would let myself get upset I realized I should keep building on the changes I have made so far. I have already noticed a substantial change in my blood sugar and hunger patterns. I normally feel like I cannot stop myself from afternoon snacking and nighttime eating. now that I make sure protein is a big part of every meal that has become a lot more controllable. It is a noticeable difference and I’m happy with that even if I am not losing pounds like crazy.

My afternoon snack was roasted broccoli (that was disgusting because I accidently poured salt all over it instead of sprinkling) and a few wasa crackers with hummus and turkey. This snackage got me through my photography class – I credit the protein

One of the bigger changes from my attempt at BFL is the fact that after years and years of vegetarianism I am eating poultry. since I don’t have any “go to” chicken recipes I had to use one of my mom’s. Well, it’s an improvised recipe. Tonight I chopped up 3 large chicken breasts and sautéed them with onions and zucchini.

Once the chicken was cooked and zucchini soft, add a can of Campbell’s condensed cream of Mushroom soup (my mom’s staple recipe), a bag of mushrooms and a cup of cottage cheese. finally I seasoned with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Done and delicious! It was great!

I served this with rice for Ben:

On Weight loss: I have been getting a lot of questions on how BFL is working and weight loss. since I am not following BFL exactly I didn’t want to weigh myself last Friday. I will update that sometime this week or next.

My Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Croacia Intuitive eating background keeps me very hesitant to do anything that feels like a diet. Easing into a more balanced way of eating (with more protein and fat instead of copious amounts of cereal) has helped me to feel comfortable with these changes and know that I can maintain them long term.

In order to keep building on my BFL efforts I am going to add a mini-goal to my week every week for the next 6. For the rest of this week I am going to switch out my dessert with Camiseta PSV Eindhoven a protein ice cream shake ? This goal is going to be fun.

Hello! I have a super simple black bean veggie burger recipe to share today! It’s a fantastic recipe if you celebrate Meatless Monday.

These diy veggie burgers are so simple as well as healthy – I like throwing them together for a quick lunch or dinner.  I utilized to make veggie burgers all the time (and eat the store bought frozen ones) however pre-made ones can be costly as well as full of random ingredients.

Easy Black Bean Burgers Recipe

Ingredients:

1 can black beans (rinsed)

1 egg

1/3 cup oat flour (blend quick oats to make)

spices (S&P, garlic powder, your fave)

Directions:

Nope. He made some sort of gross Theraflu concoction. It was gross and I may or may not have accused him of trying to kill me.

We got to the airport with time to enjoy dinner together.

He started with a great clam bisque.

I got a Raspberry Lemonade (with vodka) to help me sleep on the flight.

For dinner I got the Turkey Melt. I’ve been craving a good deli turkey sandwich with sprouts. This wasn’t it.

Fruit instead of fries because I want a prize.

The flight was uneventful. I had a really great seat (window, no one in the middle) until some lady decided she wanted to sit in our middle seat and leave the light on all night. Motherf. thanks lady.

Tina swooped me up from the airport at 5:33am (God bless her) and took me to the Happiest place on earth – Marylou’s. This is the best iced coffee. I’m pretty sure it’s because when you say “no sugar” they still put some, but I’ll continue to look the other way.

I only ended up with about 3ish hours of sleep so I’m in a weird fog brain.

I’m trying to rally and just jump into the fun, so I ate breakfast on Tina and Theodora’s time.

Today we’re headed to the new balance factory to see where running shoes come from!

Where ever they come from, I’m pretty sure my shoes weigh 22 pounds each…

Unfortunately, I made the rookie mistake of us shopping when we were hungry   We ended up with a lot of extra goodies in the cart like these chocolate hazelnut cookies. (Note the way the box is ripped open like we’re animals.)

Fortunately (?), after eating 2 cookies after dinner I don’t think they’re life changing so I’ll leave the rest for Ben. Camiseta Real Madrid and they are tiny for being 180 calories for 2 cookies!

This morning I did an easy 3 miler, 1 mile walk cool down. Then, I rushed home so I could hit up the story before I had to start work. It was a seltzer Camiseta Juventus emergency!

Plus, many of you were skeptical about my pumpkin protein pudding recipe and demanded pumpkin cookies instead. Well, I’ll deliver. I grabbed the ingredients for easy pumpkin cookies too!

On the way home I found two fun license plates I thought I’d share for fun Friday:

Too much of this..

is making my stomach upset as well as I skipped a genuine workout this morning. even some unforeseen business in the gym…

couldn’t get me to push myself.I was incredibly stressed about missing so much training considering that I’m ya know, meant to run a marathon next month. But, I’ve checked out that missing training on holiday hurts your confidence a lot more than your physical fitness as well as I’m hoping that’s true.

Either way, I am planning on adding in some much better runs as well as a physical fitness plan as soon as I get home!

2. Eating: Last night’s dinner was at the Italian location as well as got pizza. I like pizza, however am still dreaming of Chicago deep dish.

This morning I tried to clean up my eating with oatmeal as well as yogurt. I felt a great deal much better after this meal than I’ve felt after a lot of of them here. I don’t believe I’ve been eating intuitively as well as requirement to get it together.

3. Fun: I did some a lot more snorkeling while Ben tried his hand at wind surfing.

Now we’re off to an ostrich farm. Random, huh.

I’ve been snacking on a great deal of nuts (salt as well as pepper cashews are my obsession) as well as protein powder smoothies.

And I threw together a super simple dinner with roasted broccoli, cauliflower rice. frozen poultry as well as avocado (not pictured).

I will not be eating these coconut chips since they are not my jam. I desire I had jam right now actually…

1. I discovered infant Lips gloss at the 99 cent store!!! Whhhaat?! I was so excited I bought 5 of them in all different colors. SCORE!

 

2. I am not on the wine Diet, however that should be a thing – don’ t you think?!

(Apparently there truly is a Red wine Diet. Umm. Okay. I’m in.)

3. ProCompression has the cutest Valentine’s Day compression socks. however I’m most excited that they sent me new visors. You understand I can’t online without them!

 

4. vegas is a funny lil character this week. He’s been extremely cuddly. I believe he just wants me to be his Valentine so he can get chocolate covered feline nip.

 

5. My latest Fabletics attire is AWESOME.

Protein Brownie for one Recipe

In a little bowl mix:

2 Tb. apple sauce (or vanilla greek yogurt)
1 Tb. honey or agave
1 Tb. chocolate syrup
2 Tb. egg whites or 1 egg white
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
dash salt & baking soda

Place in a mug sprayed with non-stick.

 

Microwave for 1 – 2 minutes or up until middle looks set.

I ‘waved mine for 1:30 as well as then let it set for 2 minutes.

Flip onto a plate as well as enjoy!

Ben wanted a sit down place so we looked up a 5 star rated breakfast spot – first Watch. I’ve seen this place on Meghann’s blog and was excited to try it out in AZ not FL.

I wanted iced coffee, but they don’t have it on the menu. So, I asked for a cup of ice and hot coffee. It worked!

I love that there was a whole section of healthier options. I chose the triathlete omelet – egg whites with mushrooms, green peppers and tomatoes. It came with a dry english muffin and a fruit cup. The fruit cup was a little sad, but everything else was good.

And since I love pancakes (but they don’t make me full), Ben and I shared one. The menu says this is a “multi-grain” pancake, but it looked straight up white to me. I asked and the waiter confirmed that this was their multi-grain.

Finally, we were off to the rock N’ Roll Arizona Expo! It was kind of déjà vu since I just went to a rock N Roll Expo in Las vegas last month!  I hate to admit it, but I got a little overzealous with signing up for races and I’m majorly burnt out on it. But, the show race must continue and I’m hoping to take a break soon (the money’s already spent so I have to stick it out).

First things first, I had to check in and get my number.

I love the high energy buzz that is all over race expos! everyone is pumped and excited and a little nervous – but in a great way.

Ah! I’m nervous too! I get way too nervous before races. Camiseta Gremio even when I’m just running for fun.Added bonus: we are staying in a hotel that has a ton of racers – so every time we get in the elevator there are people to talk to and a “Good Luck!” is always exchanged!

Now we are heading out to enjoy the sun shiny day! I love when the temperature is in the mid 70s for “living”, Camiseta SC Braga but this is a little hot to run in. I also love the dryness of the desert, but it’s weird if you’re not used to it (Ben, who is from FL still complains about this).I prefer high 50s for long runs! I’m hoping we are racing early enough to beat the heat!

If you’re coming from a cooler climate and running RnR AZ tomorrow make sure to hydrate! I’ve already talked to a few people on the elevator who think it’s steamy here!
