I Ate the World’s most significant Donut

Hello! Are you ready for a terrific week? My lil brother has this week off school for Thanksgiving, anybody else? I better get to piling on the Miles because there was so much good food this weekend. Oh my gosh, where do I even start. Carbs on carbs on carbs.

First, after my run Saturday I purchased some treats for the weekend. I wanted to try this Danish Kringle last holiday season, but didn’t have a good reason to purchase it. Ben is here this week so I got it knowing he would love it too. (I got a surprise check out recently, which probably inspired my post the other day.) We’ll get back to the Kringle in a minute.

Saturday night we went to California Pizza kitchen because I remembered their magical pear gorgonzola pizza. I hadn’t been there in years, but I used to be obsessed with it. Obsessed. My family provided to take me anywhere after my graduation and I picked CPK.

I purchased for us because I’m good at food. The pear gorgonzola pizza is amazing, try it. The other one had bacon, leeks and eggs. It wasn’t my favorite pizza ever but it was good too.

This morning my exercise was just a walk with Vegas.

Post walk: I busted out the Danish Kringle. It is a pastry stuffed with almond paste. If you’re into almond paste or filled pastries – try it!!

I think it looks like a enormous donut but it’s not really a donut texture at all. It’s a flakey pastry. You should heat it because eating or it’s just not right.

Then, I headed to my mom’s for a little puppy visit. They are the cutest dogs in the world and I want to roll around in the turf with them all day.

I found some very ripe avocados in the fridge and made dinner around that. I made tostadas and salad and ate all the avocados I could. My family has two avocados trees so there are times when it’s my responsibility to eat them.

Bang energy marketing Strategy: Am I missing Something Here?

Now, I know all the marketing Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Gales gurus and purists are going to chime in here and tell me how I don’t know what I’m talking about and that the Bang energy marketing strategy is pure brilliance. but I’m sorry, the only thing I want to “Bang” is my head against the wall if I see one more stupid piece of merch being launched or promoted.

Note: This article is slightly satirist in nature. If you aren’t willing to have a few laughs, don’t read this and move along.

In all honestly, the merch that Bang energy is coming out with is absolutely cringe-worthy. So much so, that I’d literally kick my own ass if I used any of it let alone made a video or Instagram post endorsing it. I don’t care how much money you throw at me. Yet, you have all of these influencers getting bought out and ultimately selling their soul to be a walking talking billboard all in the name of making some quick money. THIS is what the industry has come to? Do people need to look stupid on purpose just to make money? come on man, is everyone drinking the Kool-Aid these days?

But WAIT! There’s MORE!
Look, I love me some Bang energy drinks, but the marketing isn’t what has me pop a top – it’s the flavor and caffeine content. but every time I see Bang energy come out with a ridiculous piece of merch, it’s like a bad infomercial that says, “But wait, there’s more!” Heck, you can even cue DJ Khaled saying, “another one.”

I mean, honestly, is anyone buying this stuff, or do we just see it on fitness influencer Instagram pages and YouTube videos? I have yet to see one person who is a personal pal of mine in the industry legitimately promoting the Bang energy merch or buying it because they think it’s cool.

After going to the Bang energy website, my mind was blown even further. In terms of accessories, there are over 49 items available – some of which we are going to have a little fun with right now.

I’m talking things like towels (to “clean up” after yourself), umbrellas (because your future’s so bright), pens (for those important contracts you need to sign), bags (to put your school books in), cups (for beer pong), stickers (to put on your laptop lid that’s in your Bang energy laptop sleeve), resistance bands (work those glutes), phone grips (so you can take your Bang energy selfies in public places), lunchboxes (because you’re probably still in school), wrist straps (be real, you don’t have weak wrist from all that…), a teddy bear (because you’re sleeping alone – hence your strong wrists), coolers (to keep your beer cold during spring Break), glow sticks (for the ravers out there), and best of all… a Bang energy fanny pack (because why not?).

But Wait! We haven’t even talked about the apparel yet! colorful tops and bottoms that look like they came directly out of the ‘60s when people were smoking weed and with over 140 different items to choose from, you can buy one of everything and you won’t have to do the laundry for months. Oh, and don’t think I’m going to waltz on by without talking about the Bang energy shoes. I mean, if you ain’t hangin’, you ain’t bangin’. and if you’re caught dead in those shoes, Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Bélgica trust me, you ain’t bangin’ anything.

But seriously, why? I’m being dead serious. Why would anyone (who isn’t paid by the company) want to wear or own anything produced by Bang Energy? If they had ordinary t-shirts, I can actually see people wearing them. but the stuff they have on their website is a little odd. I get the fact that Bang energy is one of the biggest energy drink brands out there today, but I don’t see people walking around in neon rainbow colored Monster energy jumpsuits or dance shorts with a frickin’ unicorn on it. So, why would anyone wear those things with Bang written on it?

Again, I already have a list of people written down that I’ll check off the box next to their name as they chime in with, “Matt, you’re an idiot… You simply don’t understand… You clearly have no clue about marketing a business.” ok Steve, slow your roll. before you put on your fresh pair of Yeezy’s and your smedium tank top to go fist pump at the beach like you’re on the cast of jersey Shore, let’s get something directly – no one is buying Camiseta Manchester City this stuff except maybe the 17-year-old boy who wants to look amazing or the 14-year-old girl who wants to be the next Bang energy model.

I need to go get a can of Bang energy to amazing me down. I’m literally sweating as I write this because it has me so fired up.

OK, Let’s put All the Jokes to the Side
After reading all of the above, there’s still one person who’s laughing. and that one person is Jack Owoc. In fact, he’s chuckling all the way to the bank. The dude is growing the brand 699% and bringing in over $687 million in sales according to IRI data. I mean slap my ass and call me Suzan, that’s impressive. Let’s not forget that Jack is going toe-to-toe with Coca-Cola/Reign in the courts fighting over the use of the name “Reign.” who else would ever want to pick a fight with a monster like Coca-Cola?

I can’t knock the guy. back when I was getting into the supplement game, VPX was a hot player and I drank their Redline RTDs religiously. and while it has fizzled out tremendously, Jack found his groove again with Bang Energy.

When we talk about substantial purchases in the industry like the Quest Nutrition billion-dollar deal or some of the other brands who have offered for millions of dollars in 2019, Jack is going to get a substantial pay-day when he decides to walk away from Bang Energy. and good for him. I’m being serious when I say the man deserves every cent he gets from the sale of Bang Energy. He has done something very few have been able to accomplish in that space.

Unless the lifter is in an olympic training facility, they can’t just let a bar with 135, 225, or more, just drop to the ground. As soon as we dropped our bags we headed to the kitchen. His mommy and daddy were at church so we dug into anything and everything in the fridge. I made a plate with a ton of different goodies.

Then, we broke into the cookies! Ben’s mommy has a special recipe that everyone is in love with. This year she made chocolate chip and toffee crunch. Ben was pretty ecstatic about it.

I had a chocolate chip and half a toffee.

Finally it was present time! Ben’s fam opens everything on Christmas Eve. This is something new for me because my fam does  everything Christmas morning.

And I was introduced to another family tradition – hot fudge and ice cream. Ben’s mommy slow cooks fudge on the stove and pours it over ice cream after the presents are all open.

This is the kind of tradition I can get into!

Hot Fudge Topping:

Ingredients:

4 squares of Bakers unsweetened chocolate

2 cups sugar

1 cup warm milk

2 eggs, beaten

2 tsp vanilla

pinch of salt

slowly add

Directions: In a double boiler combine all ingredients. heat and stir until the chocolate is melted and everything is combined. keep on low for 2 to 3 hours, until desired thickness. stir typically and scrape down the sides. check water in double boiler periodically to make sure it doesn’t burn.

Hello! I received another StitchFix fashion delivery last week and am here to share my thoughts on the new clothes. I really loved my last ‘fix so I was excited to rip open this box and see what I got…

1. Sandri Peplum Pullover sweater – I am not a fan of peplum cut tops because it hides my waist. I’m fairly wide in the shoulders and hips so having a flowy sweater or shirt that hits me right on my hips makes me look bigger. That said, I was surprised that I liked how this sweater looked! But, it seemed a little small in the arms so I sent back.

4. Duxall Keyhole Back top – This top is a nice breath of fresh air in the middle of the winter. Okay, so yeah winter in southern California is a relative term, but I appreciate the colors. This top is the slightest bit too big and was falling off my shoulder, so I sent it back. I love the key hole back and California casual style though.

5. Zinna faux Suede dress – Love. Out of all the clothes I got from this Stitchfix haul I liked this dress the most! It might be one of my all time favorites from the service actually. The color, size and style are all on point.

10x Ms. Olympia Iris Kyle will compete at 2020 Olympia!

Just 8 days ago, I penned an short article for Iron Magazine, calling for the return of Iris Kyle. in that article, I stated the event simply wouldn’t be the same without the renowned Women’s Bodybuilding champion. While there have been other Ms. Olympias, no woman has won much more titles that Kyle. In fact, none of the men have won as much as her, either. Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman are both tied for eight Sandows, each, that’s two less than Kyle.

What’s crazy, though, is that Kyle could potentially win her 11th title, dominating the most prestigious stage in Women’s Bodybuilding for three calendar decades come this December. fans of muscular women have been hoping this day would come for a long time and when the announcement to bring back the Ms. Olympia was made Camiseta Crystal Palace FC at last year’s Olympia Weekend, questions about Iris began to surface on the message boards like wildfire. Surely, the G.O.A.T. would be a part?

After winning her 10th title, the event went on hiatus, with Jake Wood’s Wings of strength events filling the void. Not only did WOS fill the void, they rebranded the division with a far much more innovative method that appealed to a far greater audience. Over the course of the last five years, the Rising Phoenix events have flourished. There was a year Kyle considered competing at the world Championships, though that didn’t materialize. That being said, for as great as the WOS world championships were, the only contest that can definitively crown the best of the best in any physique-based division is the Olympia, so it makes all the sense in the world that for the first Ms. Olympia after so numerous years, that the Queen herself be in the house. thanks to the great news, not only will she be in the house, but she’ll be competing!! The question is, can Iris win in today’s Women’s Bodybuilding?

The sport has changed. no one can deny that. The reality of the matter is that Women’s Bodybuilding has had periods where size, condition, and freakiness became too much for some, just best for others. We saw a transition in the early 1990’s, moreso in the mid 90’s, and by the time the IFBB implemented the so-called 20% Rule, it may have been too late. The desire to curtail the freakiness in the division was too little, too late. The new guideline created some confusion and as a result, the stars aligned for Ms. Olympia Yaxeni Oriquen, who nailed it, and dethroned Iris in 2005. with that being said, guidelines can be tricky. For as much notice as may have been given, to a competitor on top, there can be some hesitation to completely switch gears. I don’t think a lot of the Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Canadá ladies going into that ‘05 Ms. O thought the guideline would be as rigidly enforced as it was that first year. That being said, if the guideline had been intended to hold for 2006 and beyond, I have no doubt that Iris would have made the required adjustments to her physique and bested everyone in 2006. The fact is, however, that the guideline was scrapped and before anybody knew it, the new Women’s physique division was best around the corner. The reason the 20% guideline is pertinent here, is because Iris is the kind of champion who could adapt then, and many certainly can adapt now.

When it concerns hardness, that’s a question of diet. When it concerns size, that’s a question of training. Iris is in complete control of it all and just because the annoucement of her return was made this week, that doesn’t imply that this decision wasn’t being seriously contemplated all year long. In fact, this decision might have been contemplated from the moment Bob Cicherillo – The Voice of Bodybuilidng – made the annoucement at The Orleans Arena. What I imply by that is, Iris has known for a long time what’s needed and time has been on her side. Unlike years when she was actively competing, she’s been able to eat, train, and prepare in peace.

For starters, this has been a very difficult year and some thought the Olympia may not even happen. once it became clear that that was a go, no matter what, no one thought Iris wanted to compete and/or would be announced as competing. There were a lot of talks, plenty of back channel discussions. The fact is, Kyle’s return increases the production value. There’s going to be a bonanza of marketing opportunities now, there’s going to be much more ticket sales, and the media will have numerous great stories to write out of this new, essential addition to the roster of competitors.

In a very real way, having two Ms. Olympias on that stage, in Iris Kyle and Yaxeni Oriquen, implies that the event will bridge different eras into one. You have the ladies from the 2000’s and 2010’s moving into 2020 and a new decade. This is exactly what the division needs and a great way to grow it into the future. As a fan of female bodybuilding, I see this news as a great step towards much more than a comeback, this will be a game changer. The same wayJake wood and his team brought about a renaissance for muscular women, so too, will the return of Iris Kyle lend itself bring renaissance at the Olympia level.

Fans haven’t seen Women’s Bodybuilding in this light. The last few years they did, it was relegated to little much more than a throwaway division. I anticipate fans and new fans of the most musucular women’s division losing their minds in December!! I Camiseta Fútbol also think the Ms. Olympia will inspire a great numerous ladies – of all ages – to enter competitions in said division. Up until now, there has been no WBB at The Arnold or at The Olympia. If you don’t think that’s taken a substantial toll on pro and amateur athlete entries, you’re nuts. It many certainly has! Now, female bodybuilding competitors will have a reason to battle, they will have their crown jewel back again.

Iris Kyle isn’t just going to get on stage and win her 11th title, though. If I had to bet, I’d bet on her. I’m not even going to lie; however, there are some very talented competitors, ladies like Helle Trevino, Pauline Nelson, Michaela Aycock and Theresa Ivancik, just to name a few, and they’re not about to let Iris or Yaxeni swoop in for an easy win. It’ll many certainly be a battle!! then again, battles are what ladies like Iris and Yaxeni live for!! and then there’s age, right? but you’ve all heard of muscle maturity, right? Well, muscle maturity is truthfully a topic that really, really concerns life with the women – especially muscular women. Muscular women, like Lisa Aukland, battled for top spots at the most significant contests on earth at 50+ and there were numerous others. Further, it’s one thing to place well, but these ladies also looked so good, the fans thought they ought to have won!! but there’s much more to age also.

Age isn’t simply your years on Earth, but in my opinion, it’s also the years you’ve spent on stage. While numerous of the ladies in the event may be younger than Iris and/or Yaxeni, they’ve also been competing nonstop in the years that both Ms. Olympias have been resting. They still train of course, but it’s far less taxing than training and eating to compete. who knows, maybe these rest periods will create even much more outstanding physiques in them come December? could you imagine if we’ve yet to see the best Iris Kyle of her whole profession and we see it when she’s battling for her 11th Sandow? It could be pretty crazy.

How thrilled are you for the return of Iris Kyle?
